A Year of Free Comics: WHAT’S UP BEANIE? captures the awkwardness in all of us

Everyone has a story. Waving back at someone NOT beckoning at you and then supposing you are smoothing out your whisker instead. Saying “thanks, you too” as a response to “how are you? ” For me, one of my most embarrassing minutes was my first day working in a aircraft supermarket. A customer purchased a glitter-encrusted fake flower. Breathing in more profoundly at the exact moment I picked it up to scan it at the cash register, I inhaled the glistens, had contributed to a choke fit in front of the whole store. The stage is, humans are awkward and What’s Up Beanie? captivates it perfectly.

Created by Beanie( Alina Tysoe ), the slice-of-life comic is based on real-life occurrences from the creator’s events. We considered cute infancy minutes( there are puppies !), angsty teenage years, and socially awkward encounters in adulthood.

Each installment is short but unbelievably relatable. Even if you aren’t guilty of doing what Beanie does, you can at least feel the feelings of the members of the committee. The prosperity, the panic, the awkwardnes, and everything in between. The best part about it is it starts those vexing events you can’t let go of feel less overtaking( I still have a glitter thing years later ).
