A picture of a grip during the coronavirus pandemic has been called World Press Photo of the Year.
Rosa Luzia Lunardi, an 85 -year-old Brazilian woman at a attend dwelling, was photographed getting her first hug in five months through a transparent grip curtain.
The champion of the World Press Photo of the Time, Mads Nissen, said he was covering the coronavirus crisis in Brazil which has been one of the countries most affected by the crisis.
“I was photographing the graveyards, the graveyards where people were mourning, hospices, the ambulances, but I likewise felt there was need for a different kind of picture, ” he said.
He required a drawing which could evidence “this certain Latin American spirit to fight and find love even in the most dark hour”.
